STANDARD FREE BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE – 1PC MAX 20KG

If not otherwise stated, for specific flights or series of flights, adults and children are allowed to carry 1-piece maximum 20kg of baggage free of charge, excluding cabin baggage.

The free hold baggage allowance for infants (0-2 years) is 1-piece maximum 10kg.

In addition to the above requirements, please note that the total linear dimensions (i.e. Length plus Width plus Height) of any item of baggage must not exceed 158cm. and the weight of each baggage should not exceed the 32kg.

Any item of baggage exceeding the size or weight limit will not be accepted at passenger check-in but can be carried by cargo, with applicable charges.

The standard applicable free baggage allowance is shown in “orange2fly” passenger ticket or Tour operator voucher.
For specific agreements such as increased baggage allowances please contact your Tour operator or directly “orange2fly”.

CABIN BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE

Passengers travelling on “orange2fly” flights are entitled to carry one piece of hand baggage up to 8kgs in the aircraft cabin not exceeding 55x40x20cm.

The bag should be of a size to fit under the seat in front or in the overhead locker.

All passengers will be asked to display their hand-baggage at check-in to ensure that it is suitable to be carried aboard the aircraft. If your hand baggage is over the permissible size, as determined by the baggage sizers located at all departure gates, we will ask you to check the bag for transport in the cargo hold (placing limited release tag). Baggage allowance restrictions apply.

In addition to the allowed one piece of hand baggage the following items will be carried in the cabin with no charge:

  • 1 coat or wrap
  • 1 umbrella or walking stick
  • 1 small handbag or briefcase
  • 1 small camera bag
  • Small amount of duty free goods (where permitted)
  • A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight
  • Infant food for the journey
  • Infant carry basket / carry cot
  • Braces or prosthetic devices (provided the guest is dependent on them)
  • Briefcase or portable PC which is not being used as a container for transportation of articles, regarded as baggage (laptops should not be activated without flight crew knowledge)
  • Mobile phone

EXCESS BAGGAGE

Excess baggage is any baggage exceeding the allowance for hold baggage. Transportation of excess baggage can only be accepted after payment of the applicable surcharge.

Bulk or special baggage is not a part of the free baggage allowance and has to be paid extra.

SPECIAL BAGGAGE

SPORTING EQUIPMENT

Sports equipment is deemed to be special baggage and must be packed separately. We advise passengers to check in sports equipment in sturdy packaging. It must be recognizable as sports equipment at the check-in desk.

The following sporting equipment of up to 32kg per passenger may be transported under the conditions below.

  • Surf
  • Golf equipment up to 30kg
  • Bicycle
  • Kite-board
  • Ski
  • Diving equipment (empty oxygen bottles) up to 30kg
  • Canoe / Kayak up to 30kg

Sporting equipment must be pre-notified before travelling in order to secure transportation. For more information, please contact our “orange2fly” Customer Service Department.

Sporting weapons are not allowed on “orange2fly” flights.

Baggage or items more exceeding 32kgs can be transferred only as Cargo. For more information and details please contact “orange2fly” Customer Service Department.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Musical instruments can be taken on board as part of your free hand baggage allowance (8 kg) providing they fit within the maximum bag dimensions. Musical instruments which are too large to be carried in the cabin, will be checked in placing limited release tag.

If your instrument’s bigger than 55 x 40 x 20 cm and you’d like it to travel with you in the cabin, you must book a separate seat for this (max. size 115 x 40 x 302cm). Instruments in this size range may include guitars and cellos. The booking for both you and your instrument has to be made through our Customer Service Department.

Your instrument can also travel in the cargo hold – there are different conditions depending on its size. “orange2fly” has no liability for any damage and therefore “Limited Release Tag” will be placed.

VALUABLE AND FRAGILE ITEMS

“orange2fly” recommends that you do not pack high-value, fragile or perishable items in your checked baggage. “orange2fly” will accept such items as carry-on baggage (subject to carry-on baggage allowances) or as checked baggage (subject to checked baggage allowances). If you choose to pack high-value, fragile or perishable items in or as checked baggage, “orange2fly” is not liable for the loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of such items. All perishable items are subject to State Regulations.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

To ensure your safety and that of others, there are certain restrictions to the items which you may carry on board the aircraft, both in your checked and cabin baggage. The information below is intended as a guide only. Should you have any queries about what you are allowed to carry, please contact our Customer Service Department directly.

Totally forbidden items include:

  • Disabling devices containing mace, pepper spray etc. containing an irritant or incapacitating substance;
  • Electro shock weapons containing explosives, compressed gases, lithium batteries etc.
  • Self-balancing scooters with lithium batteries;
  • Security-type attaché cases or briefcases incorporating dangerous goods such as lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic materials;
  • Explosives, fireworks, flares, ‘strike anywhere’ matches;
  • Compressed gases;
  • Corrosives;
  • Flammable liquids;
  • Radioactive material;
  • Poisons and infectious substances;
  • Petrol-operated tools or equipment.

Electronic Devices

According, European and International Regulations (EASA &ICAO) you can carry electronic devices including e-cigars and other personal vaporizers containing batteries, for personal use, in your carry-on baggage only.

Recharging of these devices and/or batteries on board the aircraft is not permitted and you must take measures to prevent accidental activation. Spare batteries must be individually protected to prevent short circuits by placing them in the original retail packaging or by otherwise insulating terminals e.g. by taping over exposed terminals or placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch and carried in carry-on baggage only.

In addition, lithium batteries are subject to the following conditions:

Each installed or spare battery must not exceed:

  • For lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries, a lithium content of not more than 2 g or
  • For lithium ion batteries, a watt-hour rating of not more than 100Wh.

Those exceeding 160 Wh are not permitted to be carried by passengers

LOST, DELAY OR DAMAGED BAGGAGE

DAMAGED BAGGAGE

Please ensure your baggage is sufficiently robust, well packed, and properly secured to withstand the usual rigors of air travel.
If, on arrival you find that your baggage has been damaged please contact Lost and Found staff in order to fill in the damage report.
In case a bag has a minor damage caused by use, the Airline must have the bag tagged with a limited release tag and will not accept claims or repairs.

Such damage can be:

  • Small scratch(es)
  • minor zipper damage
  • minor handle damage
  • Dirt due to Airport conveyor belt
  • Major Damage due to baggage overload, etc.

LOST OR DELAYED BAGGAGE

“orange2fly” ensures utmost safety of your baggage at all times. However, sometimes your baggage may be lost or delayed. In such cases, we assure you that our representatives at the airport will assist you in recovering your lost or delayed baggage.
Please contact Lost and Found staff in order to fill in the Property Irregularity Report and ensure that you will keep a copy.
Upon arrival of your baggage, we will arrange to have it delivered to your local address.

If your baggage is delayed to be delivered, beyond 24 hours and you are not located at your permanent residence, you may claim for First Need Expenses.
Please note that you may claim for a reasonable amount that covers your needs. (e.g. toiletries, personal items.)

If you are entitled to First Need Expenses, you may request your reimbursement from “orange2fly” Customer Service Department, by providing the following documents within 21 days of the claim:

  • A letter including a brief summary of your claim for compensation
  • All Original receipts
  • Your File Reference Number
  • Your Boarding Passes
  • The baggage Tag details
  • Your Passport
  • Your contact information

In the unlikely event that your baggage cannot be located within 45 days of tracing, the procedure of reimbursement will begin. “orange2fly” Customer Service Department, will inform you about the final settlement.

Please note that based to Montreal Convention, “orange2fly” has a limited liability relating to claims for checked baggage, according to which the applicable limits of liability of “orange2fly”, in the case of destruction, loss of, or damage or delay to baggage is 1,131 Special Drawing Rights (SDR), per journey and passenger. The SDR is the accounting unit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 1,131 SDR currently corresponds to about € 1,213. Please note, that this amount is subject to currency fluctuation and may vary. Claims for damage or loss to items in checked baggage, which are fragile, perishable or of special value cannot be accepted.
